Teaching a parallel circuits
As
we all are aware that the successful integration of ICT into the learning
environment will depend on the ability of teachers to structure learning in new
ways, to merge technology appropriately with a pedagogy, develop socially
active classrooms, and encourage co-operative interaction and collaborative
learning and group work. So integration of ICT has become one of the most
important ingredient in the teaching and learning process to achieve quality
education in our young generation.
Owing
to this, I make the best use of ICT resources in the process of teaching and
learning to enhance effectiveness of my teaching and students to learn better.
On 03/08/202, I taught science to class VI children in my school on the topic ‘Parallel
Circuit’. The flow of my lesson was as smooth as ocean as I have integrated and
made best use of ICT resources. I began my lesson by writing the topic
‘Parallel Circuit’ on the board and let a few children to read to the class.
Then I explained the lesson objectives to the children.After that I let my
children to look for the explanation of parallel circuit in the internet
through the web link provided below for reference.
After
that I provided instructions to the children to explore parallel circuit in the
internet through the web link below

After
having explored parallel circuits in the internet, I also made my children to
make a parallel circuits by themselves following the instructions with
materials provided to them. The following
procedures were followed to make a complete parallel circuits.
1. Cut
the wire in to five parts
2. Remove
half a centimeter of insulation from both ends of the wire.
3. Attach
a wire to the positive side of the dry cell and wound the other end to the left
side
of a light bulb.
4. Attach
another wire to the negative side of a dry cell and connect it to the switch.
5. Get
another wire and connect it to the switch to the right side of the light bulb.
6. Add
one more bulb to the set up by wounding another wire to the left side of the
first
light bulb.
7. Wound
another wire to the right side of the first light bulb and connect it the right
side
of the second light bulb.
After having made a successful parallel circuits, then I let my children
to watch video of PhET simulation of parallel circuit from the link
given below.

The lesson
was really insightful as the children learning was full of curiosity. None of
my children were left behind not knowing the explanation of parallel circuits
and building parallel circuit connection. Thus my lesson objectives were
achieved as stated in the beginning of my lesson delivery. I concluded my
lesson offering cheers for students for a successful lesson:
